"KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT"
Knowing your purpose and knowing your reason
*******************************************************************************
"DOING AND BEING you"
Do you tend to put limitations on yourself? Do you tell yourself you can’t do this, you can’t do that, if only you had made this decision, then that would have happened? Do you think that what you have or who you are is not enough? Do you believe that there is a limit to what you can do?Well, here is some news for you. You are stronger, smarter, more aware and able to achieve more than you think. As a matter of fact, there are no limits to what you can accomplish. You are limitless, what you think can and will be.
It is time to believe that saying “YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK.” If this is your first time hearing it, repeat it to yourself. Repeat it and know that you have the power, the knowledge and the know how to do all, be all and have all.
I recall a conversation I had with a woman that was seeking a Life Coach and a fitness instructor, she talked about growing up in dysfunctional household and being told that she would never amount to a thing, that she was going to grow up to be nothing and do nothing. Over twenty years had passed and the pain was still evident in her voice. She said there were so many things she wanted achieve but because of what she was told as a youngster she didn’t feel worthy and that sometimes she wished she was another person.
How many of you have ever felt this way? How many of you wake up and look in the mirror not liking what you see? How many of you ask yourself how did you become who you are and desire to be someone else?
Well, it is not too late to make a change. There are people who start new careers, go to college, write books, perform and achieve other goals after they thought it was too late, that too many years had passed them by.
How do you do this? What steps could you take? Well, ask yourself these questions:
Now see yourself becoming that person, doing those things. Close your eyes and picture yourself in the moment. Imagine how you would feel once you achieve this accomplishment. Then once you have that person in mind, try to live as you imagine that person living. This does not mean if the person you want to be is wealthy for you to go out and spend all your money, what it means is to save and budget and the numbers will start to add up. If the person you want to be is a writer, write everyday and if that’s not realistic every other day. Don’t think you have to write the nations bestseller, just put pen to paper and let your imagination go to work.
If the person you want to be is a business owner, read books on how to start a business, talk to someone that’s achieved this goal and educate yourself on management. Now mind you, the person you want to be, your visual and mental image may change, but that’s okay, it’s your imagination and you can do with it as you please. One you decide on something specific, stay focused.
How do you stay focused? It requires some skill and patience, especially with so much going on around us, in and outside of the household. So first, remove distractions as best you can. The best way not to give into distractions is for that option not to be available. Make having the distractions difficult or inconvenient to access. Close your door, turn off your phone, send the kids to someone you trust. Block out time to finish one of your task and reward yourself when you complete it.
You have what it takes to be successful in whatever you chose to be successful in. You just have to believe in it and in yourself. The words you may have heard from others can become whispers and eventually nonexistent when replaced with your own thoughts, words and actions. Remember, you are limitless, you can do all, be all and have all. Just start by asking yourself, “What can I change about me today to bring the new me into existence?”
